She's officially a published author
Me. It's me. I'm that she.
As the title already has implied: I AM OFFICIALLY A PUBLISHED AUTHOR! ← I’ve been excited to write this sentence. While I feel like that’s been true for weeks, given the fact that I’ve had this book in my hands for that amount of time, it is still very exciting to celebrate the ‘official’ birth of Womb Witch, Herbal Magick for Reproductive Health. I no longer have to say, “You can pre-order the book!” because it’s out in the world, available for regular ordering and all that jazz.
As soon as I could learn to read and write, I was reading and writing like nobody’s business. Hell yeah, I had mass amounts of personal pan pizzas from that Pizza Hut-sponsored BOOK IT! Club. [If you’re unfamiliar, this ‘club’ is the brilliant capitalistic, pizza fanatic tactic where you convince American children to read books in exchange for personal pan pizza tokens. Lucky for them, I loved both books AND pizza.] I’ve lost the plot. What I’m trying to say is that this day has been a goal of mine since way back when. I wanted to be one of those authors, offering books others were hungry to ingest.
A goal of mine [ahem, one of the biggest] has been fully realized, and it feels like this is a moment that is very worthy of being proud of. It was a helluva a lot of work, both mentally and emotionally. No one tells you that you’ll likely have a spiritual crisis and breakthrough while writing a book, but it’s very much been the case for me. This process was like sitting for a psychedelic plant medicine ceremony every week for a year. Certain things were exhumed in the process. While I am still integrating all I’ve learned, I remain grateful I put myself out there to have the chance to experience all that has been laid before me.
I’ll keep this post sweet and short because I need to go lay on the earth for the remainder of the day until my Virtual Book Release Gathering [Are you coming? Have you signed up? Thanks for all of the support, lovely people. I’ve been rambling on and on and marketing the heck out of this book for months, and the response and love I’ve received in the process has been nothing short of humbling. I’m not sure if I could feel more supported by my community.
More from me soon. In the meantime, hug the ones you love. And maybe go lay on the earth for a little while, too. I suspect that’s the medicine we all need right now.
